Thunderbird profiles.ini locked
WebDec 28, 2024 · Only once did I get the option of creating a new profile. I pointed it at the 6ikjupda folder but nothing was set up and it still asked if I wanted to set up a new email address. For now the profile rests in the .thunderbird folder and I'm convinced that the problem lies somewhere between the profile.ini and installs.ini files. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use

WebJul 4, 2024 · I have to move my Thunderbird (and everything else) from my XP computer to my Windows 7 computer. I copied all the profile files from the old computer to the new profile folder on the new computer. The profiles.ini file points to the correct folder. But Thunderbird does not load the profile. WebJul 11, 2024 · In the past, copying not the profile, but the whole "profiles" folder including profiles.ini would automatically work on the destination computer. Try that first and tell us if it does not work. Rename the apparently unneeded folders instead of deleting them is always best to allow recovery from errors. kukla Posts: 919
WebDec 28, 2024 · Of course, you can back up Thunderbird profiles so that if the profile gets corrupted, you can navigate to the corrupted profile, rename it say by adding an 'X' to the beginning of the name and another 'X' to the end of the extension and then copying the backup into the folder. If that resolves the issue, delete the renamed corrupted profile.
