Battles 1 is better if you compare the games in their early stages, but Battles 2 has improved greatly since release, while IMO Battles 1 took a nosedive after a while. Battles 2 is also more enjoyable to play for longer, and better incentivized continuation of play. Also, City and BTD 4 expansion should switch.
