WebFor my shower, here's the order of things as I think I should be doing them. Tar paper/roofing felt over the subfloor. Build the kerb out of bricks with an outside layer of thinset. Deck mud pre slope. Shape kerb over bricks with ~1/4" of deck mud in the same "pour" as the pre slope. PVC membrane up over the kerb, as well as a foot up the walls ... WebUse a 2x4 or trowel to smooth out the pre-slope floor. Remove the top flange of the drain (the part that connects with 4 bolts and sandwiches the shower liner). The deck mud should be flush or slightly higher than the top of the bottom flange of the drain. You should have 1/4" slope per foot between drain and wall.
